It is sad to announce that Chuck recently died at home from a rare bone marrow disease. As well as his eight grandchildren, Eden-Rose, Andrew, Madison, Marissa, Sam, Aaron, Alayna & Rachel, his brothers, Gary(Anne) Bowling, John(Yvonne) Bowling, and many nephews & nieces.Ī private graveside service will be held for family on June 24th at City View Funeral Home. He is survived by his children, Ken Bowling, Debbie(Evan)Sullivan, Dan Bowling, Karen(Ro)Ochoa, and Peter Bowling. He is preceded in death by his wife of 42 years Darlene Bowling, and his parents, Henry and Opal Bowling. He will be forever missed by his children, and friends. Joe was known for his kindness, generosity, willingness to help anyone, and his smile. He had many conversations with people all over the world. Recently he renewed his interest in becoming a Ham radio operator. Joe enjoyed retired life by volunteering, vacationing with family, and spending time at the Oregon Coast. After 25 years he retired from Hillcrest. In 1986, Joe began working for Hillcrest Youth Correctional Facility, as a Group Life Coordinator.

Joe gave his family an opportunity of a lifetime by being able to experience the different Asian cultures. The whole family went on a two month outreach missions trip, traveling to five countries throughout Asia. In 1984, Joe and Darlene joined Y.W.A.M and become short term missionaries. In 1973, they moved to Salem, Oregon where they raised their five children. Joe met Darlene McMillion at Bethany, and they were married on July 5, 1968. He then went on to seminary at Bethany Bible College in California. In 1949, the family moved to Prineville, OR and then on to Baker City, OR where he graduated from Baker High School. Joe was born in DeQueen, Arkansas to Henry and Opal Bowling. Joe,age 77 went to sleep listening to the ocean waves, and woke up in the presence of our Lord on May 27th. Everyone is welcome to join in his celebration of life. A celebration of life potluck will be held at the Jefferson Community center on July 30th from 2 – 6 PM, followed by a celebration at his favorite bar Tommy’s. He has many grandchildren and great grandchildren. also his step daughters Susan Clair and Tina. He is survived by his daughters Lori McCoy, Jeanne Kyle, Kimberly McCallister and Christie Muehe. Preceded in death were his parents and sister Ella Louise, his wife Gladys (Ginger) Calder and Stepson Paul Stanek He really enjoyed the community that was created here in Jefferson Oregon. He ran his business in the local community for 32 years, making many lifelong friends along the way. He had worked on several local farms before starting his store You Name it with his wife Ginger.

John had live in Jefferson Oregon for almost 40 years. He worked for the City of Salem for several years. He grew up in Redway, Garberville and Crescent City CA. John Aaron Calder (smoke shop John, as he was known to many) was born on Novemto Mervin and M. Special thanks to the staff at The Woods who took such loving care of her.Ī private memorial service will be conducted at City View Cemetery. Phyllis was preceded in death by her husband Donald O’Connor and daughter Laura Beer. Phyllis is survived by her son, John “Tom” Gettman Jr., daughters Denise Foster, Teri Gill (Bill) and Kellea Tompkins, grandchildren, Ashley Jackson, Jennifer Rice, Brett Foster, Allie Foster and great grandchildren, Rowan Rusconi, Parks Jackson and Drew Jackson. Phyllis always knew where to find the fish, sharing her special fishing holes with anyone that asked. During camp outings, Phyllis was lovingly referred to as “Queen” of the campground, organizing games, meals, and outings. She loved gardening and the great outdoors. Phyllis enjoyed spending special times with her family and friends.

Phyllis was later employed as a school bus driver for 35 years, once receiving the driver of the year award for her services. Phyllis was a very petite lady, with a special personality that made everyone smile.

One of her special memories was Gerry Frank insisting she play Tinker Bell at the store during the Christmas holiday. Phyllis started her employment in the coffee shop and toy department at Meier and Frank in 1957. Phyllis was the second of three children born to Maxine and Wade Pyle on January 31, 1936, at the family homestead in Lacomb, Oregon. Phyllis Elaine O’Connor passed away on June 9, 2022, at the age of 86, in Salem, Oregon.
